Over the next couple of weeks you’ll travel the world! Visit countries on many of the continents and write about what you learn in a way that makes me want to visit too. Respond here: tell me where I should visit, what language I should be prepared to speak, and two important dates in the history of the country. Your writing will earn you a stamp in your passport.
Here is an example:
Aloha from Hawaii where I visited my friend Julie in the capital city of Honolulu. We went to the North Shore and surfed at Waikiki’s Beach where the waves are huge and the beach is beautiful. Mount Kilauea is an active volcano and we saw it spewing magma into the ocean, it was cool! People in Hawaii speak English but use Hawaiian words when they talk, like aloha and mahalo which means thank you. Hawaii didn’t become a state until 1959, after the military base at Pearl Harbor had been attacked, entering the US into World War II. The weather in Hawaii is warm and sunny and the pineapples juicy! This was a great place to visit.
